Curatorial RemarksThe technique and signature of the present work are stylistically consistent with other drawings from Wyeth's early years, that is, prior to his joining the Howard Pyle School of Art. Although the figure cannot be linked specifically with other drawings, farm scenes and vignettes depicting rural life were favorite subjects of the artist during this period.
