Curatorial RemarksThis is a student work, done before Wyeth joined the Howard Pyle school in the fall of 1902. It may have been done at Massachusetts Normal Art School during the spring 1900 session for a class described as "Model, charcoal," or done at the Eric Pape School during the fall 1900 session.
The drawing is one of a group of 16 early works sold by Nicholas Wyeth in 1972.
