Curatorial RemarksAccording to Douglas Allen, Jr., this is one of a group of eight to ten items found in the attic of a house in Needham, Massachusetts, possibly "the Wyeth homestead" in the late 1960s. The group included work in oil, watercolor, charcoal and pencil, and all dated to the late 1890s. (Other items in the group include NCW 2106-NCW 2108, NCW 2660 and probably NCW 1259.) Allen sold this piece to the Wyeths shortly after purchasing it from Mott (per email, DA to CBP, 1/12/2016).
