Curatorial RemarksAndrew Wyeth could not shed light on the impetus for this work or NCW 1494. The signature suggests the artist considered it a completed painting, perhaps exhibited or published. It relates to NCW 1494, but the hillscape and its principal feature are the same in both pictures, indicating that one was not meant to be viewed as an extension of the other.
