Curatorial RemarksThis drawing was found in Andrew Wyeth's studio in 2009. Two other drawings (see NCW 1516 and 2632) found with it were commissioned by the Forbes Lithograph Mfg. Company in 1941 as illustrations for a proposed Penn Mutual Life Insurance calendar; the present work may also have been considered for the commission, which according to Penn Mutual records was never completed.
