Curatorial RemarksFor reproduction on the Popular Magazine cover, the image was cropped along the bottom, presumably to focus on the figures. The cropping "removed" the artist's signature in the lower right of the reproduction. On the magazie cover, lettering which read " 'The Call of The Spring' / Painted by N. C. WYETH" was overlaid in the lower left corner, crediting the artist and providing an authority for the title.
